Are you pondering what I'm pondering?

i'm still alive!

Surgery went fine today... at least I think it did, I still can't move my toes or feel them, but it's probably because I'm still under some sort of anesthesia for my leg.

I got to the Webster Surgery Center at exactly 9:15am, my appointment time. We watched the Maury show, always a good thing to watch crap shows when you're in a not so great time of your life. Surgery is nothing compared to being beaten up by your arrogant bastard husband who thinks you're his property.

I changed into a gown, a hair net and socks with rubber soles. Very stylish...

They stuck another needle in me for IV. I'm getting holier and holier everyday. Even though I've donated blood many times before, I still get freaked out a little bit by needle pricks. And then whenever I went to the restroom, the blood would flow out into the tube. Woo! Good thing my dad wasn't there to see it.

Finally they took me to the operating room where I had to lie on my stomach so the anethesiologist did something funky to my leg. Next thing I knew I was waking up at the end of my recovery hour. Man, that was fast! By that time, my mom and Dave came back to get me. I ate some ... crackers?? I can't even remember and probably some Percocet. Woo!

They wheelchaired me outside and finally got home. I took a semi-proper shower (involving my exercise ball, use your imagination...). And still haven't napped at all yet. Feeling quite comfy on my bed, surfing the net while my mom cooks dinner. Yep, this is the life. =)

Can't believe how fast this all happened. Got hurt on Sunday and already got surgery by Wednesday.

And now to thank someone without whom I couldn't get anything done these past few days.
THANK YOU DAVE!
- Dave stayed with me at UCSF Emergency for hours while I waited around for x-rays, cast setting, doctors, nurses, etc. He brought food, gatorade, and a Jon Stewart book to keep me occupied.
- Dave drove around SF to find that 24 hour Walgreens in Castro so that I could start my Vicodin addiction as soon as possible. He waited for a long time while I was almost passed out in the passenger seat and Jamie was occupied with watching gay men make out to music by Madonna. I hope he's putting his Boy Butter knives to good use.
- Dave drove me back from SF that Sunday night.
- Dave took me to my Tang Center appointment on Tuesday. And he stayed with me the entire time and helped me out with manuevering around and talking to the doctors and nurses.
- Dave drove me to my early 9:15am appointment with surgery this morning. He kept me company right until I got sent into the operating room. And if that wasn't enough help, he then drove to the Oakland Airport to pick up my mom so she wouldn't get lost on Bart or in a taxi. Then he waited an hour at Longs drugs to help me get my Percocet prescription. And when I finally woke up, he drove me and my mom back to my apartment.

Yep, Dave is da bomb diggity fo sho. =)
