I went to my first Friday Night Skate with the SF Midnight Rollers tonight.

The California Inline Skating Guide deems this skate to be advanced with the worst level of surface rating.

I SURVIVED! Thus, I am apparently a good skater.
The run is 12.5 miles all around San Francisco. Great tour of nice spots I've never even seen.
Two huge hills, the first hill was extremely rough, huge gravelly craters. I inched my way up.
Two sloping tunnels, we flew down the Broadway Tunnel in a narrow pedestrian pathway on bumpy iron. Unlucky pedestrian caught in the middle of rush.
A ton of running red lights, stop signs, I can't believe how many laws I broke today.
It goes FAST! If you don't keep up, you lose the path and protection of a big group.
Lot of jumping on and off sidewalk curbs.
Two falls, one fall I crashed into the steps at Union Square, the second fall during the Serpentine move.
Speed demons down many hills! Must be able to know how to brake!
We skate in the middle of the street most of the time.
Some parts completely dark! Can't see potholes, cracks, uneven surfaces...
Ton of music, organizer brings stereo and speakers on wheels. Pump it up! Plenty of onlookers, cheers and car honks.
Dancing in Union Square!
Viewing of awesome aggressive skating at powell bart station. Jumping over people to fly down escalators!
Sharp turns on streets.
This event definitely not for beginners.
