franiwack (10:27:27 PM): we had to do presentations of our programming projects
franiwack (10:27:39 PM): then we did evals of our profs
franiwack (10:27:48 PM): and then we got directions and stuff to beach
franiwack (10:28:05 PM): we actually all went to visit a bioinformatics company first

franiwack (10:28:17 PM): it's the company i soooo wanted to work for
franiwack (10:28:27 PM): but since i have no apt in westwood and no car
franiwack (10:28:33 PM): had to choose city of hope instead

franiwack (10:28:48 PM): my friend linda drove me to discovery
franiwack (10:28:54 PM): our friend odisse followed behind
franiwack (10:28:59 PM): we went to beach and ate lunch first
franiwack (10:29:05 PM): and then drove to biodiscovery
franiwack (10:29:21 PM): waited for the others
franiwack (10:29:29 PM): and then dr. hoff gave us a tour
franiwack (10:29:34 PM): it's in marina del rey
franiwack (10:29:42 PM): really nice environment
franiwack (10:29:47 PM): you can see water from their building
franiwack (10:29:55 PM): then we all drove back to the beach
franiwack (10:30:01 PM): the profs were already there
franiwack (10:30:08 PM): with chairs and umbrellas and food
franiwack (10:30:14 PM): some people went swimming
franiwack (10:30:18 PM): i didn't bring suit
franiwack (10:30:23 PM): we played frisbee
franiwack (10:30:34 PM): then we got into teams and played ultimate frisbee
franiwack (10:30:37 PM): so tiring
franiwack (10:30:39 PM): but fuuuun
franiwack (10:30:43 PM): everybody is sooo fun
franiwack (10:30:45 PM): and nice
franiwack (10:31:12 PM): me and linda stood near the water
franiwack (10:31:20 PM): and got really wet when this huge wave came by
franiwack (10:31:26 PM): and three of the guys went into the water
franiwack (10:31:28 PM): to swim
franiwack (10:31:40 PM): after hanging around a bit
franiwack (10:31:49 PM): we roasted hot dogs in the pit
franiwack (10:31:56 PM): also had smores
franiwack (10:32:01 PM): took tons of pics!!!

franiwack (10:32:23 PM): they were all surprised that i could throw
franiwack (10:32:26 PM): and catch :-)

franiwack (10:33:03 PM): also got to roast marshmallows to make smores
franiwack (10:33:53 PM): too bad not all the interns showed up
franiwack (10:34:09 PM): they'd had had tons of fun
franiwack (10:34:17 PM): plus get to bond with the rest of us more
franiwack (10:34:24 PM): yeah, i hadn't been out in a long time
franiwack (10:34:27 PM): so this was great
franiwack (10:34:44 PM): and since it was at dockweiler beach, i got to watch so many planes fly out of lax
franiwack (10:34:49 PM): makes me want to go flying...
franiwack (10:35:08 PM): i'm gonna be so sore tomorrow
franiwack (10:35:17 PM): have to start working at city of hope tomorrow
franiwack (10:35:21 PM): but not sure what time to go

franiwack (10:35:40 PM): anyways, the guy who drove me back is really nice
franiwack (10:36:00 PM): since he lives in san marino, he was the only guy sort of going the direction of my home

franiwack (10:38:58 PM): it's hard running in the sand
